Home Of The Kennedy Space Center

By far the most prominent place in Titusville is the Kennedy Space Center. While it is technically in Cape Canaveral, it’s basically in Titusville. Many KSC employees live in Titusville and it always gets filled with tourists whenever there is a launch.

I’ve always wondered why they chose Titusville of all places to launch things into outer space, and it turns out it’s just the perfect location for that sort of thing. Titusville is right on the coast, so rockets can land in the ocean instead of in highly populated areas. In addition, because Florida is close to the equator, where eastward velocity is the greatest, it’s easier to send things into space (Lada). So, the Space Center was built and forever changed the makeup of Brevard county and especially Titusville.

Because Titusville is home to so many NASA employees and contractors, pretty much everyone has some relative who worked there. It's not hard to find some and get their stories.
